Branded, Interactive eLearning Design
PROJECT SUMMARY
To improve the quality and consistency of asynchronous learning at Block, I led the redesign of our interactive eLearning templates in Articulate RISE. The goal was to create more engaging, on-brand experiences that boost retention, application, and scalability. These drag-and-drop templates made it easy for multiple teams to build high-quality content—quickly and consistently.
This work required close cross-functional alignment across People Leadership, Manager Excellence, DEI, and learning design teams. I led coordination efforts to keep timelines on track while delivering thoughtful, high-impact solutions.

User Interface Design,
Brand Alignment
Block’s brand—crafted by the Creative Studio team—is dynamic, expressive, and deeply connected to the company’s values and culture. As we designed these learning modules, it was critical to maintain visual continuity across the employee experience, ensuring every touchpoint reflected the same high standards seen across Block’s products and resources.
We analyzed existing brand applications (examples below), identifying opportunities to extend these elements into the learning environment in ways that felt intuitive, engaging, and authentic. This approach allowed us to elevate both the aesthetic and functional quality of our learning experiences.

User Interactions & Assessments
Beyond visual design, we prioritized thoughtful, strategic learner interactions and assessments throughout each eLearning course. Key behaviors and competencies for Block employees were woven directly into scenario-based activities, reflection prompts, and decision-making exercises, giving employees meaningful opportunities to apply new skills.
Learning theory shows that interactive learning increases knowledge retention, engagement, and real-world transferability—outcomes we observed as learners reported feeling more prepared to apply concepts in their roles. By designing for both engagement and application, we ensured that learning translated into lasting behavior change.

Example 1
Knowing Your Team
This module helps managers build stronger team connections through guided reflection and real-world scenarios. Learners explore techniques to deepen relationships, foster trust, and create conditions for high performance—applying evidence-based strategies to support behavior change and lasting leadership growth.

Example 2
Team Development
This module explores the Tuckman model as a lens for understanding team development and dynamics. Through interactive scenarios and reflective practice, managers learn to recognize their team’s stage, anticipate typical challenges, and apply strategic leadership approaches—promoting team effectiveness and individual well-being through intentional, evidence-informed learning.

Example 3
Emotional Intelligence
This module translates emotional intelligence theory into practical leadership behaviors. Through interactive scenarios, reflection, and applied exercises, learners build self-awareness, strengthen relationship management, and lead teams more effectively—grounded in evidence-based design that drives engagement and real-world impact.
